Burning Roma

A millionaire winner of 13 races in his spectacular racing career, Burning Roma is by Champion Sprinter Rubiano and out of While Rome Burns by Overskate.

Burning Roma was a durable runner who won or placed in a remarkable 27 stakes races at 11 different racetracks.

At age two, Burning Roma won the Futurity Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park and the Prince George Park Stakes at Laurel. At three, he won the Leonard Richards Stakes at Delaware Park, the Tampa Bay Derby and Sam F. Davis Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, the Sir Barton Stakes and the Long Branch Breeders’ Cup Stakes, while placing in the Pegasus Handicap (G2), the Haskell Invitational Handicap (G1), the Jerome Handicap (G2) and the Federico Tesio Stakes.

Burning Roma’s winning ways continued over the next three seasons, adding the Meadowlands Cup Handicap (G2), the Tampa Bay Breeders’ Cup Stakes and the Red Bank Handicap (G3) at Monmouth Park, among many others. He earned $1,500,200, winning 13 of 36 and placing in 14 others.

He is already siring stakes winners on the Thoroughbred tracks with over $10 Million in earnings. Among his best offspring are four-time graded stakes winner Sheer Drama ($1,691,040, Ntr) and multiple stakes winner Little Drama ($359,299), half siblings to Eclipse Champion Sprinter Big Drama. He has also sired stakes winners, Burning Time ($260,347) and Perf ($89,238).
